Vegan

Yup. I'm doing it. Diving into this thing headfirst.

As most of my readers know, I'm a vegetarian. I have been for about three years, and it's been amazing. But lately I've been thinking more about the dairy I consume and the eggs I eat, and through the interweb and great people on twitter (@LeafyV, @veganrunningdad, and @VeganInLA to name a few), I have decided to go vegan. There is so much cruelty to cows and chickens, almost more so than animals killed for their flesh since they're kept alive longer. Then there's the whole taking calves from their mothers andimmobilizingthem and impeding muscle development, then feeding them an iron deficient diet so that their flesh will be pale when they're ready to skin them, artificiallyinseminatingthe mother cows so they continue to produce milk thing, which I don't agree with, and when the cows can no longer give birth, they're auctioned off to the highest bidder for slaughter. And because I don't believe in those (and many other unthinkable things that are done to animals), I'm going vegan, and I encourage you to do the same.

Check these resources: http://bit.ly/7T8LO6, http://bit.ly/5Y96k7 and http://bit.ly/7ipGjn for more info, and of course follow the people I mentioned above!

Have a happy, healthy New Year,

J. Herbin Vert Empire ink review

J. Herbin Vert Empire
I was really excited to try out this ink. I've always loved the color green, and when I received this in the mail from Karen @Exaclair, I nearly spilled it all over myself I couldn't wait to use it! (After which of course, I was plagued with the more-inks-than-pens syndrome, and had to flush some pens out...). Unsurprisingly I wasn't disappointed by this J. Herbin ink. The ink flows well in this reputably dry Hero 329 (Fine, of course), and the color complements this pen perfectly!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes green ink (you know what they say about people who use green ink...), and I can't wait to try out more Herbin inks!!
